Reforestations

In recent years, the jungles to the north of Yucatan have been progressively degraded due to the change of land use to areas of cultivation and livestock to satisfy the demand of the growing population centers.

In this jungle there are natural resources that at AES we believe that, when properly managed and used, can become sustainable. For this reason, we decided to implement an enrichment reforestation project in 11 hectares of the Centro Regional Universitario Península de Yucatán (CRUPY).

This project will serve to improve the ecological conditions of the land to be reforested and therefore of the area, thus serving as a demonstration and research module for future work, which includes in its objectives the improvement of the production of local farmers, helping them to expand its markets, service offerings and quality of life.
