Environmental campaigns in the communities

In order to promote and encourage sustainability and biodiversity conservation, we carry out environmental campaigns every year in the local communities of  Tamuín and San Luis Potosí. These campaigns include:

RecliclAES Challenge

As part of this campaign to encourage sustainable waste management and recycling, together with National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), we held a special presentation for students at participating schools that focused on the 5R’s of recycling (reject, recover, reduce, reuse and recycle), the correct separation of waste and the care of endemic flora and fauna of the region.

Local elementary and middle schools in Tamuin, Estación Tamuín and Estación Las Palmas ejidos collected 1,700 kgs. of PET and 30 kgs. of aluminum, successfully showing how new generations are equipped to care for the environment by instilling a culture of recycling.

#EcoselfieAES

#EcoselfieAES was created to promote the green rehabilitation of common spaces through actions such as reforestation, cleaning, recycling, reuse and painting, etc. This campaign invovled school children, parents and teachers who represented each of the participating primary and secondary schools in the municipality of Tamuin, Estacion Tamuín and Estación Las Palmas.

We partnered with the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), Wildlife Management México and the UMA de Felinos "Selva Teenek", who served as jurors of the activity, to carry out this successful campaign. In addition, AES people from TEG TEP created videos to engage with teachers on simple and creative rehabilitation tips.
